About this model
====================

This is a Functional Cell Unit for adenylyl cyclase metabolism in the cardiac cell.

Model status
=============

The current CellML implementation runs in OpenCOR.

Model overview
===================
All components are presented in `bond-graph` form.
Components are made by converting an existing kinetic model and translating into bond-graph form.

Components
----------

CellML divides the mathematical model into distinct components, which are able to be re-used.
The main CellML components are:

- :math:`{\beta}`-1 adrenergic receptor ( :math:`{\beta}`-1AR)
    - Derived from: `Saucerman et al.`_
- Gs Protein
    - Derived from: `Saucerman et al.`_
- muscarinic receptor (M2)
    - Derived from: `Iancu et al.`_
- Gi Protein
    - Derived from: `Iancu et al.`_
- cAMP
    - Derived from: `Saucerman et al.`_

Each of these blocks is itself a CellML model, which enables us to reuse the various components in future studies.
