Energy-based bond graph models of glucose transport with SLC transporters
===========================================================================

We present the parameterized bond graph models for facilitated diffusion with
SLC2A2 (GLUT2)
and electrogenic cotransport with SLC5A1 (SGLT1) transporters. The bond graph models
are placed in the folders <Facilitated transporter>
and <Electrogenic cotransporter>, respectively.

Facilitated transporter
===========================

The main CellML_ files are:

- The bond graph model *GLUT2_BG.cellml* parameterized to the kinetic data in `Lowe and Walmsley (1986)`_,
- The steady-state model derived from the bond graph with the variation of intracellular concentration of glucose *GLUT2_ss_io.cellml*,
- The steady-state model derived from the bond graph with the variation of extracellular concentration of glucose *GLUT2_ss_oi.cellml*,
- The steady-state kinetic models *GLUT2_kinetic.cellml* defined in `Lowe and Walmsley (1986)`_,
- The parameter file for the bond graph *params_BG.cellml*,
- The unit definition file *units.cellml*.

Electrogenic cotransporter
===========================

The main CellML_ files are:

- The bond graph model *SGLT1_BG.cellml* parameterized to the kinetic data in `Parent et al (1992)`_,
- The bond graph model with fast binding/unbinding parameters *SGLT1_BG_fast.cellml*,
- The steady-state model derived from the bond graph *SGLT1_ss.cellml*,
- The steady-state model with fast binding/unbinding parameters *SGLT1_ss_fast.cellml*,
- The parameter file for the bond graph model *params_BG.cellml*,
- The parameter file for the bond graph model with fast binding/unbinding parameters *params_BG_fast.cellml*,
- The unit definition file *units.cellml*.

The corresponding SED-ML_ files can be used to run simulations in OpenCOR_.
